The Croatian National Cricket Team appeared at an international tournament
for the first time in August 2000, and made a very encouraging debut. Since a
second place at the inaugural European Representative Festival, Croatia has appeared
in several tournaments in Austria and Zagreb in subsequent years.
Cricket in Croatia continues to grow with support from the
ECC,
MCC and members of the
diaspora community helping the locals to play the game. The island of VIS now has the William
Hoste Cricket Club (after the Englishman who introduced it almost 200 years ago). Cricket in Zagreb
has continued to grow with a home ground in place since 2002.
